Our friends at Allergy Apparel shared this nice tip regarding a gluten and nut free Gingerbread House Kit from A and J Bakery in Rhode Island! Apparently, you can order these online from their website which also provides ingredient information regarding all of the candy included in the kit.
A few years ago, I paid $90 (and yes, I’m still whining) for a parent/child Gingerbread house workshop. Not only did my son have to wear latex gloves, but the candy used was the cheap bulk candy from a local store. I had expected for $90 we would enjoy darling foil wrapped pieces and nicely shaped candies. Nope. After that, I was on a quest to find nut free gingerbread house kits. Two years ago I found a safe kit at my local Raley’s store and now I am wondering if it was made by A and J Bakery?
Nevertheless, we sometimes make our own kits and have a blast. We even made a Hanukkah House once for our Jewish friends!
Happy Decorating and Thanks Allergy Apparel for always sharing great tips on living and celebrating with food allergies.
