Gluten and Nut Free Gingerbread House kits

Our friends at Allergy Apparel shared this nice tip regarding a gluten and nut free Gingerbread House Kit from A and J Bakery in Rhode Island!  Apparently, you can order these online  from their website which also provides ingredient information regarding all of the candy included in the kit.

A few years ago, I paid $90 (and yes, I’m still whining) for a parent/child Gingerbread house workshop.  Not only did my son have to wear latex gloves, but the candy used was the cheap bulk candy from a local store.  I had expected for $90 we would enjoy darling foil wrapped pieces and nicely shaped candies.  Nope.  After that, I was on a quest to find nut free gingerbread house kits. Two years ago I found a safe kit at my local Raley’s store and now I am wondering if it was made by A and J Bakery?

They other festive goodies too!

Nevertheless, we sometimes make our own kits and have a blast. We even made a Hanukkah House once for our Jewish friends!

Happy Decorating and Thanks Allergy Apparel for always sharing great tips on living and celebrating with food allergies.

I just like the helpful information you provide for your articles.
I’ll bookmark your weblog and take a look at once more here regularly. I am moderately certain I’ll learn plenty of new
stuff proper right here! Good luck for the next!

The bakery you are referring to may be gluten free, but the candies they use are laiden with food coloring. Far from anything I would let my kids eat.

Thanks for joining the conversation Dawna–I usually change out some of the candies. I’m not a fan of food dye, but will make exceptions now and then. I also like to make my own icings, etc. We need to inspire some of our favorite non-gmo type companies to create a nice gluten free, nut free, dairy free gingerbread house with no dye candies!!!
